Regular Season Round 21: Zalgiris - Alytaus 62-64

A very close game took place in Kaunas between Alytaus and Zalgiris. Leader Alytaus (5-0) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Zalgiris (2-2). Alytaus managed to escape with a 2-point win 64-62 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was point guard Gedvile Savostaite (180-2) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-92) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Rasa Zemantauskaite-Matla (176-81) who recorded 28 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Neda Pliatkute (170-4) added 8 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alytaus have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Zalgiris at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost.
