Regular Season Round 21: Bonn - Vechta 94-89
Date: February 27, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Rasta Vechta (3-17) lost to thirteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (7-11) in Bonn 89-94. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Telekom Baskets shot 28 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Rasta Vechta only scored nine points from the stripe. Rasta Vechta was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized American guard TJ DiLeo (190-90, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and American swingman Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) chipped in 18 points. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets' coach Will Voigt allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) with 30 points and 7 assists and guard Tim Hasbargen (194-96, college: Babson) scored 24 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Telekom Baskets. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Chemnitz. Rasta Vechta lost their sixth game in a row.
