Very expected game when 10th ranked Acibadem (8-14) lost to second ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (18-4) in Istanbul 83-96 on Saturday. Senegalese-French Amath MBaye (205-89, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 assists. American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) answered with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Shannon Evans II (185-94, college: ASU) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Acibadem. Five Pinar Karsiyaka and four Acibadem players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains second place with 18-4 record having four points less than leader Anadolu Efes. Loser Acibadem dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will face Buyukcekmece (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Acibadem will play against Bursaspor and hope to win that game.
