Regular Season Round 17: Amager - Aabyhoj 89-66

An interesting game for Amager (11-3) which hosted in Kastrup 3rd placed Aabyhoj (6-8). First ranked Amager had an easy win 89-66. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. Aabyhoj managed to win third quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aabyhoj 46-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Amager looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Aabyhoj's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Amager made 8 blocks. Canadian center Angela Ribarich (196-97, college: Ottawa) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. The former international guard Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Amager players scored in double figures. International guard Alberte Rimdal (174-2) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and international center Caroline Wich (185-96, college: Portland St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aabyhoj. Aabyhoj's coach Susanne Bay gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Amager maintains first place with 11-3 record, which they share with Herlev. Aabyhoj lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Amager is looking forward to face league's second-placed Herlev on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aabyhoj will have a break next round.
