Regular Season Round 21: Siauliai - Dzukija 75-82

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Dzukija (7-11) won against on the road bottom-ranked Siauliai (5-15) 82-75 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Siauliai won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dzukija looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-96) nailed 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Giedrius Staniulis (206-91) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Dzukija players scored in double figures. Power forward Arminas Urbutis (206-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists respectively for Siauliai in the defeat. Siauliai's coach Antanas Sireika rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dzukija maintains seventh place with 7-11 record. Siauliai lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Dzukija will meet at home league's second-placed Rytas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Siauliai will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#5) in Pasvalys and hope to secure a win.
