No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked EWE Baskets (16-4) beat 12th ranked Braunschweig (6-10) in Oldenburg 101-89. EWE Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Braunschweig's 28 and made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. EWE Baskets players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American power forward Nathan Boothe (206-94, college: Toledo) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard James Robinson (191-94, college: Pittsburgh) with 20 points and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and naturalized American center Gavin Schilling (206-95, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EWE Baskets moved-up to third place, which they share with Crailsheim. Braunschweig at the other side keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. EWE Baskets will again play against Braunschweig (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against MBC in Weissenfels and hopes to get back on the winning track.
