Regular Season Round 23: Rostock - Paderborn 92-84

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Uni Baskets (8-12) were defeated on the road by third ranked Rostock (13-6) 92-84. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Rostock players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Uni Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for Trevor Lacey (188-91, college: NC State) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 assists. Point guard Chris Carter (193-92, college: Florida Tech) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Point guard Drew Cushingberry (191-96, college: Ferris St.) came up with 15 points and 4 assists and point guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) added 15 points respectively for Uni Baskets in the defeat. Five Rostock and four Uni Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Rostock moved-up to second place. Uni Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Rostock's next round opponent will be Phoenix Hagen (#13) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Uni Baskets will play against Gladiators in Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
