Regular Season Round 15: Cluj Napoca - Arad 60-59

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Liga Nationala took place in Cluj Napoca. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Arad (10-4) to fifth ranked Cluj Napoca (8-6) 60-59 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arad won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cluj Napoca forced 21 Arad turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: WVU) who saved her team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian forward Rashida Timbilla (185-92, college: UMass) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) answered with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American Porsche Poole (172-89, college: Michigan St.) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Arad. Cluj Napoca maintains fifth place with 8-6 record. Arad at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Brasov.
