Regular Season Round 18: Herlev - Amager 70-65

There was a change at the Dameligaen leadership position after last games. Round 18 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Amager (11-4). They were defeated by second ranked Herlev (12-3) 70-65 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amager. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 18 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Herlev dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 4 points in third quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Guard Luka Lachenmeier (173-2) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Herlev's coach Morten Thomsen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Rikke Fabricius (187-92, college: CMU) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Herlev have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Amager at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Herlev. Amager will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Herlev will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked SISU in Copenhagen.
