Second Stage Round 4: Beroe - Slavia 96-67
Date: March 4, 2021
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Beroe as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Beroe smashed 3rd ranked Slavia in Stara Zagora 96-67. Beroe forced 23 Slavia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Slavia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international Radostina Dimitrova (181-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Beroe players scored in double figures. Center Elena Dimova (190-0) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Slavia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Montana and Champion 2006. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Slavia will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Beroe will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Montana 2003 at home.
