Undefeated Alytaus (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of top-ranked LSU-Kaunas on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by LSU-Kaunas 80-60. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Alytaus. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. LSU-Kaunas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Alytaus' 34. LSU-Kaunas forced 42 Alytaus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international forward Neringa Birietiene (179-92) fired 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Dovile Luksiene (174-92) chipped in 16 points, 5 assists and 8 steals. Four LSU-Kaunas players scored in double figures. Point guard Gedvile Savostaite (180-2) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and forward Justina Razukeviciute (173-95) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LSU-Kaunas (4-0) moved-up to second place, which they share with Vilniaus univ. Alytaus at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
