Very expected game when 13th ranked Phoenix Hagen (5-14) lost at home to second ranked Rostock (14-6) 78-65. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Chris Carter (193-92, college: Florida Tech) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import Trevor Lacey (188-91, college: NC State) who added 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Marcel Kessen (207-97) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Jannik Lodders (198-92) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rostock maintains second position with 14-6 record having just two point less than leader Jena. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Rostock will play against Artland Dragons (#6) in Quakenbrueck in the next round. Phoenix Hagen will play on the road against Walter Tigers (#12) in Tuebingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
