Not a big story in a game in Karlsruhe where 9th ranked Skyliners II (7-14) was outplayed by sixth ranked Arvato College Wizards (11-8) 86-55 on Friday. Arvato College Wizards dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Skyliners II's 20 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Arvato College Wizards forced 21 Skyliners II turnovers and outrebounded them 33-20 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Alexander Thompson (203-95, college: Samford) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Eyke Prahst (209-97) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Arvato College Wizards players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Maximilian Begue (192-1) who recorded 9 points and Matthew Meredith (200-0) added 12 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Arvato College Wizards. They moved-up to fifth place in South. Loser Skyliners II keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Arvato College Wizards will face Speyer (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Skyliners II will play against OrangeAcademy and hope to win that game.
