Regular Season Round 26: Dnipro - Khimik 85-83

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Dnipro (16-8) edged at home 6th ranked Khimik (13-11) 85-83 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Khimik won third quarter 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dnipro made 7 blocks. International guard Issuf Sanon (193-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio, agency: BIG) contributed with 7 points and 10 assists for the winners. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov used entire bench in such tough game. International point guard Vitaliy Zotov (188-97, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists and American forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Khimik. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Khimik lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Dnipro will face Odessa (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Khimik will play against K.Sokoly in Kharkiv and hope to win that game.
