No shocking result in a game when third ranked Nesibe (18-6) crushed 9th ranked Izmit (11-13) in Ankara 101-57 on Saturday. Nesibe dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Izmit's 26. They outrebounded Izmit 47-24 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nesibe looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Izmit's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Sheylani Peddy (170-88, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import forward Ruthy Hebard (193-98, college: Oregon, agency: Wasserman) accounted for 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Nesibe players scored in double figures. Montenegrin forward Milica Jovanovic (189-89) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Inci Guclu (200-99) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Izmit in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Nesibe. Newly promoted Nesibe maintains third place with 18-6 record having six points less than leader Fenerbahce. Loser Izmit keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Nesibe will meet Hatay (#6) on the road in the next round. Izmit will play against the league's leader Fenerbahce and hope to secure a win.
