NBL top team - Rilski (16-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Academik Plovdiv (8-10) 100-82. Rilski dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Academik Plovdiv's 36. Rilski forced 22 Academik Plovdiv turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: LMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 assists. Chilean-American power forward Nicolas Carvacho (211-97, college: Colorado St.) helped adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Rilski players scored in double figures. At the losing side Croatian forward Jere Vucica (206-92, college: Miami, OH) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and international Vasil Bachev (195-92, college: Cuesta JC) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. Academik Plovdiv at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Rilski will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Academik Plovdiv will play on the road against the league's second-placed Levski Lukoil (#2) in Sofia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
