There was no surprise when 8th ranked Rapid Bucuresti (5-11) was crushed on the road by second ranked Satu Mare (15-1) 97-40 on Sunday. The game without a history. Satu Mare led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rapid Bucuresti to just 5 points in third and fourth quarters. Satu Mare held Rapid Bucuresti to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Satu Mare forced 21 Rapid Bucuresti turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Satu Mare looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rapid Bucuresti's players. Rapid Bucuresti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Satu Mare. They maintain second place with 15-1 record behind leader Sf.Gheorghe. Loser Rapid Bucuresti keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Targu Secuiesc and Agronomia.
