No shocking result in a game when third ranked Brasov (12-4) smashed at home 11th ranked Alexandria (2-14) 89-57 on Sunday. The game without a history. Brasov led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Alexandria's 24. Brasov forced 22 Alexandria turnovers and outrebounded them 48-22 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Nikki McDonald (183-96, college: Georgia South) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Brasov's coach Daniel Calancea felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Paloma Cucu (165-3) responded with 16 points and 8 assists and power forward Andreea Horlea (183-2) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Brasov. They maintain third place with 12-4 record having four points less than leader Sf.Gheorghe. Alexandria lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost.
