Regular Season Round 24: Afyon - Anadolu Efes 103-85

The most surprising game was the first loss of Anadolu Efes (22-1) in Afyonkarahisar on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Afyon Bld (12-11) 103-85. It ended at the same time the 22-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. Afyon Bld dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Anadolu Efes' 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) who added 16 points and 11 assists during the contest. Five Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian Dzanan Musa (200-99, agency: BeoBasket) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Sertac Sanli (212-91) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Afyon Bld moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Darussafaka and Gaziantep. Defending champion Anadolu Efes still keeps top position with one game lost. Afyon Bld is looking forward to face league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Anadolu Efes will play against Gaziantep and is hoping to win this game.
