Regular Season Round 27: Ternopil-TNEU - Prometey 83-89

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Prometey (16-9) defeated on the road second-best Ternopil-TNEU (17-10) 89-83 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-18. But Ternopil-TNEU won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prometey looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Viacheslav Petrov (204-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88) with 23 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Nigerian forward Avery Ugba (203-94, college: Austin Peay, agency: BIG) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prometey maintains fourth place with 16-9 record. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Prometey will face K.Sokoly (#9) in Kharkiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ternopil-TNEU will play at home against Budivelnyk (#7) and hope to win that game.
