Regular Season Round 28: Dnipro - Prometey 67-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dnipro. Second ranked Prometey faced one of their biggest challengers Dnipro. Guests from Kamianske (18-9) defeated host Dnipro (18-9) 72-67. It looked good early as Dnipro took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Prometey had a 19-13 second period charge getting the lead and Dnipro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-72. Prometey players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import swingman DJ Stephens (195-90, college: Memphis) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jared Terrell (191-95, college: URI) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Issuf Sanon (193-99) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dnipro. Prometey have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Kyiv Basket, which they share with defeated Dnipro. Prometey will play against Zaporizhye (#5) in Zaporozhye in the next round. Dnipro will play at home against Cherkasy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
