The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Amager's (1-19) road loss to fourth ranked Copenhagen (4-15) 70-94 on Friday. The game without a history. Copenhagen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Copenhagen forced 19 Amager turnovers and had a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Patrick Burke (202-96, college: DBU) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Nicklas Jonsson (196-96, college: Lindenwood, agency: BIG) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Magnus Bjornaa (194-96, college: Potomac St.) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Andreas Hoier (205-95) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Copenhagen maintains fourth place with 4-15 record. Amager lost their fourteenth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 19 games lost. Copenhagen will face higher ranked BAC (#3) in Aarhus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Amager will play on the road against Svendborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
