Regular Season Round 22: Manisa - Yalova 73-75

The most exciting game of round 22 in the TBL took place in Manisa. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Manisa (13-8) to twelfth ranked Yalova (10-10) 75-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Manisa. Yalova made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Manisa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Sahin Ekmen (203-89) contributed with 9 points for the winners. Yalova's coach Murat Yolcu used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Calvin Godfrey (204-90, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado, agency: SDJ Sports) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Manisa. Yalova moved-up to eleventh place. Manisa at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Konyaspor. Yalova are looking forward to face higher ranked Bornova Bld (#9) in Izmir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Manisa will play on the road against the league's second-placed Merkezefendi (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
