No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Akhisar Bld (13-9) beat on the road 14th ranked Ankara Basket (6-15) 85-74 on Saturday. They outrebounded Ankara Basket 46-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 20 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Alihan Genc (189-98) contributed with 10 points and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Ogulcan Sevim (190-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and American point guard Jahmal McMurray (183-97, college: SMU) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ankara Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akhisar Bld moved-up to sixth place. Ankara Basket lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Akhisar Bld will face higher ranked Konyaspor (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ankara Basket will play against Istanbul (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
