Regular Season Round 28: Dnipro - Zaporizhye 86-69

Rather predictable result when third ranked Dnipro (18-9) beat at home 5th ranked Zaporizhye (16-12) 86-69 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Dnipro made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Zaporizhye's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and international guard Issuf Sanon (193-99) who added 11 points and 10 assists during the contest. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) responded with 18 points and 9 assists and Andriy Grytsak (198-0) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Prometey. Loser Zaporizhye keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Dnipro will meet at home Cherkasy (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Zaporizhye will play against the league's second-placed Prometey in Kamianske and hope to secure a win.
