The game in Quakenbrueck was also worth to mention about. Third ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (15-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Artland Dragons (13-11). MLP Academics Heidelberg did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-83. MLP Academics Heidelberg shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 73.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American point guard Saeed Nelson (188-98, college: American) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 8 assists. American Jordan Geist (188-97, college: Missouri, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian Danielius Lavrinovicius (205-99) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to second place, which they share with Jena. Artland Dragons at the other side keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Uni Baskets (#10) in Paderborn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play on the road against Gladiators in Trier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
