There was no surprise when 10th ranked Siauliai (6-18) was outleveled by first ranked Zalgiris (19-2) in Kaunas 96-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Siauliai was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 28-of-30 free shots (93.3 percent) during the game, while Siauliai only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Siauliai 41-21 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Siauliai was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Marius Grigonis (198-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and Latvian center Kaspars Berzins (213-85) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Siauliai.
