We should mention about the upset which took place in Halle, where higher ranked Osnabrueck (10-11) lost to eleventh ranked Gisa Lions (7-15) in a road game 68-84 on Sunday. Gisa Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Osnabrueck's 32. Gisa Lions forced 26 Osnabrueck turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Greek center Styliani Fouraki (188-94) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Darien Huff (175-97, college: Charleston) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Huff is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gisa Lions players scored in double figures. Gisa Lions' coach Peter Kortmann used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Samantha Fuehring (190-97, college: Louisville) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and her fellow American import guard Allazia Blockton (183, college: Marquette) scored 18 points. Gisa Lions moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Saarlouis. Osnabrueck lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost.
