Leader Anadolu Efes delivered the twenty third victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Gaziantep (12-12) 102-63 in Istanbul. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gaziantep's 28. Anadolu Efes forced 21 Gaziantep turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Forward Yigitcan Saybir (203-99) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and German center Tibor Pleiss (221-89) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side French center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (211-94) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American Rashard Kelly (203-95, college: Wichita St.) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-1 record. Loser Gaziantep keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Afyon. Anadolu Efes will meet league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gaziantep will play against Socar Petkim (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
