Liga Nationala top team - Cluj Napoca (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Constanta (0-14) 94-47. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Constanta managed to win second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Constanta to just 6 points in third quarter. Cluj Napoca dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Constanta's 24 and made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Cluj Napoca forced 28 Constanta turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Constanta's players. It was a quality performance for Bosnian-Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (208-86, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Donatas Tarolis (203-94) accounted for 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American guard Siler Schneider (190-95, college: UC Davis, agency: One Motive Sports) came up with 13 points and power forward Mario Lazar (203-94) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Constanta in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Cluj Napoca. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-0 record. Constanta lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 14 games lost. Cluj Napoca will again meet bottom-ranked Constanta (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Constanta will play against Voluntari and hopes to get finally their first victory.
