Regular Season Round 26: Besiktas - Darussafaka 98-93

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Besiktas (#6) and Dacka (#7). Besiktas (14-11) won against visiting Dacka (13-12) 98-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dacka. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 37 personal fouls committed by Dacka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard James Blackmon Jr (193-95, college: Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists. International power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Josh Magette (185-89, college: UAH) replied with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and international point guard Dogus Ozdemiroglu (191-96) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Dacka. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Besiktas maintains sixth position with 14-11 record. Dacka at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Gaziantep. Besiktas are looking forward to face higher ranked Turk Telekom (#5) in Ankara in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dacka will play at home against Fethiye and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
