Regular Season Round 24: Bayreuth - Chemnitz 85-72
Date: March 21, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Chemnitz (7-14) lost on the road to tenth ranked Bayreuth (10-14) 85-72 on Sunday. Bayreuth made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American guard Frank Bartley IV (190-94, college: La-Lafayette, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 assists. The other American import center Derek Pardon (203-96, college: Northwestern) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Bartley IV is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (203-97, college: SMU) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Chemnitz. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayreuth have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Frankfurt. Chemnitz lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Bayreuth will face league's leader EnBW Ludwigsburg on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Chemnitz will play against EWE Baskets (#4) and hope to win that game.
