Regular Season Round 29: Nesibe - Galatasaray 74-76

The most exciting game of round 29 in the KBSL took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Nesibe (19-7) to second ranked Galatasaray (23-3) 76-74 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Nesibe. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Pelin Bilgic (175-94) who scored 13 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. American center Mercedes Russell (198-95, college: Tennessee) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Galatasaray's coach Efe Guven used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Ruthy Hebard (193-98, college: Oregon, agency: Wasserman) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds and Kazakhstan-Belarusian forward Katerina Snytsina (188-85) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Galatasaray have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 23-3 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Newly promoted Nesibe keeps the third position with seven games lost.
