Regular Season Round 25: Chemnitz - Braunschweig 87-83

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Chemnitz (8-15) defeated at home 13th ranked Braunschweig (9-15) 87-83 on Wednesday. American guard George King (198-94, college: Colorado, agency: Slash Sports) stepped up and scored 25 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Marcus Thornton (193-93, college: William & Mary) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Chemnitz's coach Rodrigo Pastore used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Czech center Martin Peterka (205-95) responded with 18 points and American point guard James Robinson (191-94, college: Pittsburgh) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Chemnitz went down to fourteenth position due to points difference. Braunschweig lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Chemnitz will face MBC (#16) in Weissenfels in the next round.
