Very expected game when 14th ranked Istanbul Univ. (4-18) lost to seventh ranked Urla (11-10) in Izmir 59-76 on Saturday. Urla outrebounded Istanbul Univ. 46-28 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Marie Benson (185-97, college: UT Arlington) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Yagmur Tasar (173-99) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Urla players scored in double figures. American forward Shayla Cooper (188-95, college: Ohio St.) replied with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Eylul Minez (185-99) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul Univ.Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urla moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Cesme. Istanbul Univ. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost.
