There was no surprise when 15th ranked Ankara Basket (6-17) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Konyaspor (15-8) 92-73 on Saturday. Konyaspor outrebounded Ankara Basket 47-23 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Dusan Cantekin (221-90) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Ogulcan Baykan (196-96) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Konyaspor players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Kutay Akpulat (198-97) who recorded 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and guard Ogulcan Sevim (190-93) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Konyaspor moved-up to third place. Ankara Basket lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Konyaspor will face Manisa (#5) at home in the next round. Ankara Basket will play against Duzce Belediye (#9) and hope to win that game.
