We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Odessa where fourth ranked BIPA O. (16-10) outleveled one of their biggest challengers Khimik-2 (17-9) 97-62 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by BIPA O.. Khimik-2 was better in second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Khimik-2 39-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. BIPA O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Khimik-2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BIPA O. made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Randy Haynes (193-95, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Joshua Patton (203, college: Sacramento St.) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Nikita Bezyma (193-1) with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Vitaliy Shorstkiy (195-0) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BIPA O. have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted BIPA O. maintains fourth position with 16-10 record. Khimik-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with nine games lost.
