Regular Season Round 29: Bremerhaven - Hagen 86-80
Date: March 31, 2021
Very predictable result when second ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (19-6) beat at home 12th ranked Phoenix Hagen (9-17) 86-80 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Armani Moore (193-94, college: Tennessee) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Trey Davis (183-93, college: UMass) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Karrington Ward (201-93, college: EMU, agency: Players Group) produced 22 points and Jermaine Bishop (185-97, college: Norfolk St.) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Phoenix Hagen's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. They maintain second place with 19-6 record having 2 victories less than leader Rostock. Loser Phoenix Hagen keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face MLP Academics Heidelberg (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Phoenix Hagen will play against Schwenningen (#6) and hope to win that game.
