Giessen 2 used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Koblenz 92-79 on Thursday night. It was a great shooting night for Giessen 2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) who had a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Tim Uhlemann (203-99) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Giessen 2's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Brian Butler (196-91) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Anthony Canty (183-91) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giessen 2 will face Itzehoe on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Koblenz will play against Schwelm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
