Liga Nationala top team - Cluj Napoca (19-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eleventh ranked Focsani (5-13) 92-74. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Focsani was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Focsani 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Cluj Napoca players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Bosnian-Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (208-86, agency: BeoBasket) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Montenegrin point guard Milos Krivokapic (185-96, agency: BIG) scored 10 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cluj Napoca have an impressive 19-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-0 record. Focsani at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Cluj Napoca will play against Miercurea Ciuc (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Focsani will play against Steaua B. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
