Twelfth-ranked Sigortam.net (11-14) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Samsun (17-8) in Balikesir on Sunday. The visitors from Samsun managed to secure only one-point victory 69-68. However their fans expected much easier game. Samsun forced 24 Sigortam.net turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Can Ozcan (202-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Brazilian center Tim Soares (211-97, college: Master's) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. American swingman Brayon Blake (201-95, college: Idaho) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette, agency: Network Sports International) added 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Sigortam.net. Sigortam.net's coach Andac Yapicier rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Samsun maintains first place with 17-8 record, which they share with Denizli. Sigortam.net at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Samsun is looking forward to face Yalova (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sigortam.net will play against Final Spor in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
