Regular Season Round 13: Buyukcekmece - Afyon 97-78

Buyukcekmece can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Afyon (0-7) 97-78. Buyukcekmece forced 20 Afyon turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Buyukcekmece players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Can Kurt (-3) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. Utku Koccu (-4) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Dogu Turan (-3) answered with 23 points and 4 assists and Hamza Halezeroglu (-2) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Afyon. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Buyukcekmece (1-6) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Afyon's seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Buyukcekmece will play against higher ranked Gaziantep (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Afyon will play against Tofas (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
