Regular Season Round 27: Crailsheim - Bonn 91-88

Twelfth-ranked Telekom Baskets (10-18) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (19-9). Crailsheim Merlins managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Crailsheim Merlins players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Belgian swingman Elias Lasisi (191-92) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) who recorded 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Serbian Strahinja Micovic (205-92, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Telekom Baskets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Crailsheim Merlins maintains fifth place with 19-9 record. Telekom Baskets lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be Chemnitz (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Telekom Baskets will play against Bayern Muenchen and hope to win that game.
