Regular Season Round 14: Afyon - Tofas 66-105

Bottom-ranked Afyon is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to third ranked Tofas (7-1) 105-66. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Afyon's 26. Tofas forced 20 Afyon turnovers and outrebounded them 69-27 including a 35-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Afyon's players. Enis Col (-3) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ata Atsuren (190-2) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Dogu Turan (-3) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Talha Aydin (-4) scored 18 points and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas moved-up to second place. Afyon at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Tofas will play against league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Afyon will play on the road against Gaziantep (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
