Regular Season Round 29: Anadolu Efes - Tofas 87-85

Fourth-ranked Tofas (16-11) was very close to win a game against first ranked Anadolu Efes (27-1) in Istanbul on Monday. Anadolu Efes managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tofas. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. French forward Adrien Moerman (202-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Shane Larkin (182-92, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 9 points and 9 assists for the winners. Anadolu Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Berkan Durmaz (206-97) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-96) added 13 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Tofas. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 27-1 record. Tofas at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Anadolu Efes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
