Ninth-ranked Neptunas (9-20) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Juventus (19-10) in Klaipeda. The visitors from Utena managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected much easier game. Neptunas was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 30-24 charge of Juventus, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Neptunas outrebounded Juventus 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Neptunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (197-93) who scored that evening 26 points and 7 assists and center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-91, agency: BIG) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Neptunas. Guard Martynas Mazeika (193-85, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Juventus and five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Tomas Gaidamavicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to third place, which they share with Lietkabelis. Neptunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 20 games lost. Juventus' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Nevezis (#10) in Kedainiai and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris and hope to win that game.
