Rather predictable result in Bursa where fourth ranked Tofas (18-11) defeated 7th ranked Dacka (15-13) 101-89 on Sunday. Tofas forced 19 Dacka turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Tomislav Zubcic (211-90) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Trinidad and Tobago-American Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) who recorded 21 points and his fellow American import center Grant Jerrett (208-93, college: Arizona) added 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dacka's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tofas maintains fourth position with 18-11 record. Loser Dacka keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Tofas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dacka will play against Socar Petkim (#14) and hope to secure a win.
