Regular Season Round 36: Mykolaiv - Khimik 74-77

Eleventh-ranked Mykolaiv (6-29) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Khimik (18-16). The visitors from Yuzhny managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Mykolaiv took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Khimik had a 27-12 second period charge getting the lead and Mykolaiv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-77. Khimik players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Khimik's coach Vitaly Stepanovski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Nathan Adrian (206-95, college: WVU, agency: Inception Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Players Group) added 17 points and 7 assists in the effort for Mykolaiv. Khimik maintains seventh position with 18-16 record. Mykolaiv lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. Khimik's next round opponent will be league's leader Kyiv Basket at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mykolaiv will play against Budivelnyk (#6) and hope to win that game.
