The game in Kaunas was also quite interesting. Top-ranked V.Knasiaus KM (5-0) played at the court of 6th ranked Perkunas (3-4). V.Knasiaus KM defeated Perkunas 86-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by V.Knasiaus KM. Perkunas managed to win third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Perkunas 46-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. V.Knasiaus KM looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by guard Mintautas Mockus (201-3) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and center Gabrielius Mazeika (205-3) supported him with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by guard Justas Gedminas (181-3) did not help to save the game for Perkunas. Elvinas Antanaitis (195-3) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the hosts. V.Knasiaus KM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sostines. Loser Perkunas dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Panevezio. V.Knasiaus KM will meet bottom-ranked Zalgiris II (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perkunas will play against Panevezio (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
