Regular Season Round 27: Sigortam.net - Istanbul 85-81

There was no surprise in Balikesir where 16th ranked Istanbul (4-23) was defeated by twelfth ranked Sigortam.net (13-14) 85-81 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette, agency: Network Sports International) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward James White (204-93, college: Georgia Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Zekeriya Tekin (184-4) added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals respectively. Five Sigortam.net and four Istanbul players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sigortam.net moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bornova. Istanbul at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 23 lost games.
